Inuyasha (?)

Does anyone know who Inuyasha is? I, of all people, most certainly do; I spend five nights a week with him, staying up till 2:30am for him, sometimes 6:00am....oh does that sound fantastical and amazing? Not really, for Inuyasha is an anime, a Japanese cartoon, what they would probably also call manga (with the first "a" short). It's a rollicking tale about a girl from this modern day (presumably Japan) who falls down a well on the property of her grandfather's old shrine, and into the time of the feudal era, when there were demons and half-demons in abundance, wandering monks and priestesses, and a lot of mayhem and magic and sword-swinging going on. This girl, called Kagome, happens to meet a half-demon, Inuyasha, who is pinned to a tree by bespelled arrows. Somehow it comes to be realized that she is the descendant of the priestess Kikyo, and carries the magical Shikon jewel inside her. Thus being so, she is somehow able to release Inuyasha from the tree, and it turns out that he has long been intent on acquiring the jewel for himself, to become a full-fledged demon. In all this, of course, the jewel not only is released from Kagome, but shatters into a million pieces that spread over all the land. (more next time!)
